Privacy Policy

Last updated: 23 June 2026

This Privacy Policy explains how Sellify (“Sellify”, “we”, “us”) collects, uses, shares and protects personal data when you use the Sellify platform — a business-to-business marketplace for wholesale trading of refurbished mobile phones and smartwatches — including our website, app, and our WhatsApp business assistant.

Sellify is a service for businesses and their representatives. We act as the data controller for the personal data described below. If you have any questions, contact us at hello@sellify.market.

1. Who we are

Sellify is operated by Fonez Ltd (Company No. 535086, VAT IE3241328LH), registered at Unit 5, Corbett Court, Williamsgate Street, Galway, Ireland. Contact: hello@sellify.market.

2. What data we collect

  • Account & contact details — name, email, phone/WhatsApp number, job title, and the contact details of additional company contacts you add.
  • Company information — legal/registered company name, trading name, company registration number, company type, VAT/tax number, business address, website, and a business description.
  • Verification documents — photo ID (e.g. passport/driving licence), company registration certificates, and related images/PDFs you upload or send us (including via WhatsApp), used solely to verify your business.
  • Bank details — account holder name and address, IBAN/account number, sort code, BIC/SWIFT and bank details, where required to trade as a seller.
  • Trade references — the company name and contact details of trade referees you provide, and referees’ responses.
  • Messages & support — the content of messages you exchange with us, including WhatsApp conversations with our assistant and support tickets.
  • Usage & technical data — log data, device/browser information, and activity on the platform.

3. How we use your data

  • To create and operate your account and provide the platform.
  • To verify your business identity and perform due-diligence checks (using the data and documents above, and public registries).
  • To provide onboarding and customer support, including through our WhatsApp assistant, and to create support tickets where needed.
  • To process payments and enable trading between members.
  • To communicate with you (service messages, verification updates, reference requests, and important notices).
  • To maintain security, prevent fraud and abuse, and comply with our legal obligations.

4. Legal bases (GDPR)

Where the GDPR applies, we rely on: performance of a contract (to provide the service); our legitimate interests (to verify businesses, prevent fraud, and improve the platform); your consent (where requested, e.g. for certain communications); and compliance with legal obligations.

5. WhatsApp & AI assistant

If you contact us on WhatsApp, your messages, profile name, phone number, and any documents or images you send are processed to answer your questions and to help you complete onboarding and verification. Messages may be matched to your Sellify account using your phone number. To generate replies and read documents you send, message content may be processed by AI service providers (see “Processors” below). WhatsApp messaging is provided via Meta’s WhatsApp Business Platform and is also subject to Meta’s and WhatsApp’s own terms and privacy notices. We do not use your WhatsApp content for advertising.

6. Sharing & processors

We share data only as needed to run the service, with providers acting on our behalf under contract, including:

  • Meta Platforms (WhatsApp Business Platform) — WhatsApp messaging.
  • Google (Gemini API) and Anthropic (Claude API) — AI processing of messages, documents, and verification.
  • Stripe — payments and related compliance.
  • Resend — transactional email.
  • Vercel (hosting) and Neon (database).
  • Public registries & checks — e.g. EU VIES, HMRC, and company registries, to validate VAT/company details.

We may also disclose data where required by law, or to protect our rights, users, or the public.

7. International transfers

Some providers may process data outside your country. Where personal data is transferred outside the EEA/UK, we rely on appropriate safeguards (such as the European Commission’s Standard Contractual Clauses).

8. Data retention

We keep personal data for as long as your account is active and as needed to provide the service, then for as long as necessary to meet legal, accounting, fraud-prevention and dispute-resolution requirements, after which it is deleted or anonymised.

9. Your rights

Subject to applicable law, you have the right to access, correct, delete, or port your data, to object to or restrict certain processing, and to withdraw consent. To exercise these rights, email hello@sellify.market. If you are in the EU/EEA, you may also lodge a complaint with your local data protection authority (in Ireland, the Data Protection Commission).

10. Security

We use technical and organisational measures to protect your data, including encryption in transit, access controls, and signed/verified integrations. No system is perfectly secure, but we work to protect your information and to respond promptly to any incident.

11. Cookies

We use strictly necessary cookies (such as your login session) to operate the platform. We do not use them for third-party advertising.

12. Children

Sellify is a business service and is not directed to, or intended for use by, anyone under 18.

13. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. We will revise the “Last updated” date above and, where appropriate, notify you of material changes.
